The habits behind the work
Care becomes useful
in the details.
A sourcing conversation depends on more than finding a similar product description. The buyer needs to know which details have been understood, what is being proposed and what remains open.
Our principles connect that responsibility with practical habits: ask relevant questions, keep specifications visible, explain differences and respect the time of the people making the purchasing decision.
They describe the way we approach the work. They are not a claim of certification, a guarantee of product availability or a substitute for the buyer’s required technical approval.
Principles in practice
A clearer basis
for the next decision.
Understand before searching.
Begin with the application and the information the buyer already has. A useful question should reduce uncertainty.
Keep specifications visible.
Record the material, dimensions, ratings, interfaces and documents that matter to the requirement. Avoid treating a broad product name as a complete specification.
Make differences explicit.
A proposed alternative may need a different connection, material or approval. Its differences should be available for review.
Communicate responsibly.
Distinguish confirmed information from an open question. Order-specific price, availability and delivery conditions require explicit confirmation.
Respect the buyer’s time.
Organize the discussion so that each exchange has a purpose and the next useful action is clear.
When a detail is uncertain
Leave room for
the right question.
A dimension or reference is missing. What next?
Mark the missing information and explain why it affects the search. A drawing, photograph, readable product label or clarification from the appropriate technical contact may help.
A possible alternative looks similar. Is that enough?
Appearance is only one piece of information. Compare the relevant specification and required documents, and make any differences visible to the buyer before proceeding.
A commercial condition has not been confirmed.
Keep it open. Do not turn an estimate or a preliminary discussion into a confirmed availability, delivery or pricing statement.
Start the conversation
A thoughtful enquiry makes
room for the important details.
Bring the part reference, drawing or product list you have. Mark the details that still need to be clarified.
